That might sound like a very threatening statement for a new teacher. On the other hand, an experienced teacher might just laugh at it. Believe it or not, teaching is full of wildlife and more; however after some time, one learns to tame the lion. Some people say they would never do such a job since they do not find it rewarding in any sense, economically and socially. After many years, teaching is a career that has been decaying and as you have experienced and seen a few people respects the teaching profession.
This issue has caused that teachers work under very rough environments. At schools, parents and children blame the teacher if failure knocks on their doors. Probably many teachers are somehow responsible for this behavior for they got tired of giving the best and getting the worst from the ones they work with. I believe teachers have to give their best in spite of the bad or good treatment they receive, once you love your professions and you have visualized the commitment with improving society, you are more than satisfied with your hard task.
A strong suggestion I can give any teacher is to constantly update oneself. There is always new research on teaching Methodoloy and application of different frameworks in developing a class. If you have no access to an organization that can help you grow professionally, try the web. You will always find something useful or something to recycle.
Whatever the environment you will have your teaching experiences, keep always in mind that you have a commitment with improving society and that your teaching philosophy might sometimes be accepted and others will be highly rejected.
I want to share this video which is really Inspiring.
